Laminam is the porcelain slab. Laminam was the first porcelain slab in the world and today embodies all the know-how, experience, technology and aesthetic research available when it comes to large format surfaces.
Laminam boasts the most complete range of products on the market, not only for sizes and thicknesses, but also for collections, colors and surfaces.
What are the advantages (PLUS) of Laminam when compared to other materials?
Ceramic is a natural and precious material for its intrinsic characteristics of fire resistance, chemical agents, heat and frost, as well as for the hygiene and ease of maintenance. The particular technological process used for the production of Laminam ceramic surfaces has amplified these characteristics, to reach new levels of product performance. Comparative studies with other materials demonstrate its superiority of performance. ( link to Comparative Study )
What are the advantages (PLUS) of Laminam when compared to other brands?
Laminam: looks like stone, cuts like quartz, performs like porcelain. Unlike other materials and manufacturers, Laminam first thought about the product and then created the technology to produce it, so it was not a question of “adapting” the product to a pre-existing production system but, on the contrary, of revolutionizing the world of ceramics starting from a product with completely new characteristics that required an equally new technology to make it happen, paving the way for new applications of the product in sectors that were previously unimaginable. This is why the Laminam slab is so unique, it cuts perfectly and performs in an outstanding way. Added to this is the professionalism and experience of the Laminam staff, who have always specialized exclusively on the porcelain slab, thus guaranteeing superior service.
Does Laminam offer a warranty?
As “Producer of porcelain slabs”, Laminam SpA offers a 25-year warranty on its slabs. The aforementioned guarantee is exclusively in favor of the Professional Buyer operating on the foreign market.
Where are the Laminam slabs produced?
Laminam XL slabs are produced in Italy. The main factory is in Fiorano Modenese, in the heart of the Italian province of Modena; another new plant entirely dedicated to XL slabs (1620×3240 mm) is located in Borgotaro (Parma).
How are the Laminam slabs produced?
Laminam uses a highly automated production process (industry 4.0) which includes six high output production lines. The manufacturing process at Laminam revolves around an exclusive system to compact carefully selected and refined clays and feldspars; an industrial process that turns our raw material into quartz.
The sophisticated technologies used in Laminam include cutting-edge decoration and dry cutting systems that reduce water consumption and purification costs. Recycling raw materials and energy are among the founding principles of our production system.
How does Laminam withstand heat?
Laminam slabs have a certified heat resistance of 200 ° C (392 °F), which is the maximum limit reached by EN 438-2 part 16. However, given the production process that involves a firing at about 1220 ° C (2228 °F) the resistance to heat of the slabs can certainly reach higher temperatures.
How do I maintain Laminam’s natural beauty?
Laminam slabs are cleaned extremely easily. For daily cleaning of Laminam slabs, use warm water and mild detergents (e.g. soap or mild detergents), using a cloth or soft sponge. Rinse with plenty of water then dry the surface with a soft cloth or paper towel.
To remove stains or particularly resistant residues from the Laminam surface, we recommend preliminary cleaning with warm water and a mild detergent. If this should not be sufficient, use gradually stronger cleaning techniques, using specific products depending on the stain to be treated, such as:
•Non-abrasive detergents with neutral pH
•Slightly abrasive detergents
•Acidic detergents (e.g. limescale remover) or basic detergents (e.g. bleach)
•Solvent-based detergents (e.g. acetone)
Subsequently, rinse with water and dry. (see Cleaning & Maintenance)
Are there any chemicals or cleaners to avoid using?
To avoid the formation of opaque patinas it is advised not to use products containing waxes. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive sponges. Under no circumstances use hydrofluoric acid or products containing hydrofluoric acid.
How should I remove stubborn or dried spills? Laminam is a material with a very low porosity, so it does not absorb water or any residual dirt.
Do I need to apply a sealer to Laminam? There is no need to apply a sealant because the material is tested according to the UNI EN 10545-3 standard which classifies it as a non-absorbent material that has a 0.5% porosity.

Can I cut on my Laminam countertop?
Laminam has a very high scratch resistance with a hardness between 5 and 7. Cutting directly on the surface will not harm it as long as if you do not use ceramic knives as they could mark the top with the same hardness.
For polished surfaces, on the other hand, it is not advisable to cut on the surface, a cutting board must be used to avoid damaging the surface.
